That is why choosing the right provider takes time and research. One area where satellite TV companies differ is in monthly premiums. One may be able to afford being cheaper than the other because it makes its money in equipment rental fees. The other may not charge for equipment rental but may charge twice as much for premium channels. It is up to the consumer to decide which company offers packages that most closely fit his or her budget.
Also, with any two companies there will be a difference in the way that the customer service department conducts itself. One company may have prompt, courteous CSRs while the other does not. Also repairs for certain issues may be free through one company and not through the other. This makes a huge difference in customer service ratings.
Channel selection is another area that varies from provider to provider. Not all satellite TV carriers offer the same channel lineup.
